SSMC Welcomes Levi Wascher to its Communications Team
Select Sires Member Cooperative (SSMC) recently added Levi Wascher as a Communications Coordinator in the Ohio office. He assists with the development and management of the SSMC communications channels and programs. Levi serves alongside the communications and sales teams to bring awareness to the quality products and services SSMC provides to its customers.
Levi earned a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University in Animal Science. While at Michigan State, he was heavily involved in Block and Bridle and completed internships in marketing and communications for companies in the agricultural industry.
Raising and showing animals through 4-H at his county fair led him to pursue a career in agriculture, which brought him to SSMC. Levi values the support he received while showing animals and working in agriculture, and he hopes to give back to those who supported him along the way.
“I appreciate the focus SSMC has on being ‘people first.’ Giving back and serving the agricultural community is important to me, and I am excited for the opportunity to work towards this goal at SSMC,” Levi says.
As a Communications Coordinator, Levi will embrace the “people first” mindset by creating communications strategies that promote high-quality genetics for dairy and beef producers. While working directly with the sales team and customers, he will see how to highlight SSMC’s products, services, and people in print and through digital channels.
"We are pleased to add Levi to our communications team. His photography and videography expertise will play an important role as we continue to grow the SSMC brand throughout our 27-state territory and Mexico. His passion for agriculture and respect for the hardworking people behind the industry are evident in the quality and authenticity of his work," shared Patti Hurtgen, Manager of Communications for SSMC.
Apart from work, Levi enjoys outside activities including playing sports, hiking, and visiting National Parks. He assists at his local county fair, teaching showmanship to youth in his hometown 4-H club. He also enjoys portrait, nature, and livestock photography, which he has captured at many livestock shows and in rural settings.
